Social Media Is Going AI-First
Social Media Is Going AI-First
AI is not replacing social media. It is changing what gets created, what gets recommended and what audiences trust when they see it.
Belgian audiences already notice AI content
The 2026 Belgian Social Media & Influencer Barometer reports that 41% of Belgian social media users have consciously encountered influencer content created with AI. Awareness of virtual influencers is also significant, even though actual following remains limited.
At the same time, 55% of Belgian social media users aged 16 to 70 follow influencers, content creators or famous people. Social is still a major discovery and influence environment; AI is becoming part of the production layer inside it.
The volume problem is getting worse
AI has made it dramatically easier to create captions, images, video variations and entire content calendars. That sounds like a marketing advantage until everybody can do it.
HubSpot's 2026 State of Marketing describes AI as baseline technology and argues that distinct brand point of view is becoming more important as channels fill with average AI-assisted content. That is the strategic shift: production becomes cheaper, so judgement and distinctiveness become more valuable.
AI-first should not mean AI-only
For AEVOS, an AI-first social workflow uses AI where it improves speed and consistency: research, ideation, repurposing, first drafts, subtitle variants, localisation and reporting.
But the source material still needs something worth amplifying. Real expertise, customer stories, founder opinions, original visuals, case studies, product demonstrations and credible behind-the-scenes content become more important because they are harder to generate convincingly from nothing.
Trust and transparency are now part of the strategy
The Belgian FPS Economy reported in June 2026 that 69% of surveyed influencers using AI-generated or AI-edited images did not systematically disclose it. The same review found persistent problems with disclosure of commercial content.
That matters beyond compliance. Audiences are becoming more sophisticated about synthetic content. Brands that use AI should have clear internal rules about what can be generated, what must be reviewed, when disclosure is required and which claims need human verification.
Social media is part of a wider customer journey
UBA Belgium's reading of the 2026 SMI Barometer is that Belgian consumers increasingly use social media, influencers, podcasts and AI in complementary ways. The strategic question is no longer which single channel wins, but what role each channel plays from discovery to decision.
That is why AEVOS connects social media content to landing pages, CRM, retargeting, SEO and automation. A great short-form video that creates attention should have somewhere intelligent to send that attention next.
What brands should do now
- 1Define three to five content territories the brand genuinely owns.
- 2Use AI to multiply strong source material, not invent a personality from scratch.
- 3Build review rules for facts, claims, disclosure and brand tone.
- 4Track saves, qualified visits, assisted conversions and lead quality - not just reach.
- 5Connect social campaigns to the CRM so the business can see what happens after engagement.
- 6Create more first-party expertise and fewer generic tips posts.
The AEVOS view
Social media is going AI-first operationally, but the brands that stand out will become more human strategically.
AEVOS uses AI to make content systems faster while keeping the brand recognisable, credible and commercially connected. The objective is not to fill the feed. It is to earn attention, move the right audience and create a measurable next step.
